Oumie and her family are live in the rural province of the Gambia. She lives in an extended family under the care of her grandmother. Her family engages in small scale farming and they grow cereals, fruit trees and vegetables. Part of the crops is used for home consumption whilst the other part is sold to take care of some family needs. However, poor harvest has hindered the parents income resulting to inadequate provision of basic family needs for the year. Oumie is going through home base training ahead of enrollment in School at the age of 4. She is kind to her peers and enjoys interacting with them. Her main hobbies are dancing, playing with doll and sand play. 

Ending child poverty begins with Oumie. It’s easy. It’s impactful.
