Senuri Vindya is a cheerful little girl living with her parents in Monaragala, a dry and sunny district in Sri Lanka well known for its paddy cultivation and farming lifestyle. She attends a primary school located about 4 kilometers away from her home and enjoys playing during her free time. At home, Senuri helps her mother by cleaning the house and supporting with small household tasks. Her father works as a seasonal farmer, and her mother stays at home to take care of the family. With an annual income of only $640, the family faces many difficulties in meeting their daily needs, providing nutritious meals, and managing educational expenses for Senuri. They live in their own incomplete house made of brick walls, a cement floor, and a clay-tiled roof. The family collects water from a common well, has toilet facilities, but does not have electricity. Sponsoring Senuri would bring immense relief to her family and help her access better educational opportunities.
