Francisco is a young Brazilian boy who lives with his parents, Lutiano and Maria Celia, and with one brother, in a rural community in the interior of the state of Ceara. Their simple home, which is self-owned, has brick walls, ceramic tile flooring and a clay-tiled roof. It has a tiny bathroom. Running water and electricity are available. Both the parents are unemployed at this time and do odd jobs when available; the combined income, however, is hardly enough to meet basic needs. Francisco is polite, communicative and intelligent. He likes playing ball games in the company of other kids his age. Francisco attends kindergarten and loves drawing and coloring. Francisco says that he will be a professional soccer player when he grows up. The family is needy and through your support Francisco and his family have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, recreation and education.
