Vihanga Nimsara is a cheerful young boy living with his parents in Monaragala, a serene part of Sri Lanka known for its vast fields and peaceful environment. He is a single child and attends primary school, which is 2.5 km from his home, commuting daily by bicycle with his father. At home, Vihanga helps his mother by cleaning the house and enjoys watching TV and playing, which brings him joy and relaxation after school. His father works as a seasonal farmer while his mother is a housewife, and their annual income of $720 is not sufficient to cover all the family’s needs, including providing nutritious meals and supporting educational expenses. They live in their own simple house made of sand and sticks with clay floors and a clay-tiled roof, accessing water from their own well. Though the home has electricity, there is no toilet facility, adding to their daily challenges. Sponsorship would help Vihanga access better nutrition, education, and opportunities to grow, making a meaningful difference in his life and promising a brighter future for him.
