Umaru is a friendly boy who lives with his parents and two sisters in a remote village located in the northern region of Sierra Leone. His family dwells in a two Bedroom house made of sticks, wattle walls and thatched roof without electricity and pure drinking water. His mother is a small-scale farmer who grows vegetables to sell at the local market while the father is a commercial motor bike rider. Their annual income is estimated at US $ 230 which is most times not enough to meet their basic needs. Umaru and his family also travel long distance to access the health facility when they are sick. He enjoys playing with dolls and modelling images on the dirt floor with peers. He is in good health. He is hoping for a brighter future if given the support through Sponsorship.
