Niva is a calm young girl who comes from the northern part of Kenya, Turkana County. She lives with her mother, father and one sister. The family lives in a palm thatched mud house in a communal land. They fetch water from a community hand pump which is saline and scarce as it is depended upon by many households in the community as the main source of water. The family practices basketry activity as the main source of economic sustenance. However, the annual income generated from this economic activity is below 360 US dollars which is not enough to support family basic needs. Her parents decided to approach the office seeking for further assistance. Niva is not enrolled in school since she has not attained school going age. She likes playing with improvised toy dolls and shakers. Her parents would like her to grow up healthy and become a nurse in future. She has not been assigned any roles since she is still young. Your support will bring a lasting change to her life and the family at large.
