Laurah is a playful young girl who comes from the northern part of Kenya, Turkana. She lives with her grandmother, father and two sisters. They live in palm thatched mud hut in a communal land. The family fetch their water from a community hand pump whose water is saline and in scarce. The family depends on a small scale hawking as the main economic activity. The grandmother is also a casual laborer in the community as a livelihood supplementation project. However, the annual income derived from this economic activity is below 360 US dollars which is not enough to support family basic needs. For this reason, her mother decided to approach the office seeking for further assistance. Laurah is enrolled in a nearby public school. Laurah’s parents would like her to be a nurse when she grows up. At home, Laurah has not been assigned any household chores since he is still young.
