John is a polite young boy who comes from the northern part of Kenya, Turkana County. He is raised by both parents and lives together with his four brothers and two sisters. They live in a palm thatched mud house in their communal land.  The family draws their water in a community bore hole whose water is saline hence not safe for child consumption. His mother is the breadwinner of the family who depends on charcoal burning and selling activity. His father practices herding as an income supplementation activity. However, the annual income derived from this economic activity is below 360US dollars which is not enough to sustain the family. His mother therefore decided to approach the office seeking for assistance. John is not enrolled in school since he has not attained school going age. He likes playing with improvised toy cars with his friends. His mother wishes him to be a teacher when he grows up. Since he is still young, John has not been assigned any house chores.
