Thais is the youngest of four girls who lives with her mother and father in a suburban area of a city located in the Bolivian highlands. Her mother is a housewife who does the house chores and takes care of her children because they are still young. The father is the only one who supports the household expenses by working as a driver. He earns a monthly amount of US $ 342.00 that hardly covers the basic needs of him and his family since a large part of that amount is to pay the rent of the place where they live. The family lives in a simple house made of brick walls, cement floors and sheet metal roofs with access to electricity, drinking water and a bathroom.
