Sponsor A Child

Sokhna is attending a local primary school. Sokhna, her siblings and their parents live in the big family house. There are five concrete rooms. They have access to running water supply; but kerosene and candles are their source of lighting. Luckily everyone in the house is ready to help each other out. Her father relies on seasonal farming. He usually grows sorghum and groundnuts; but due to unpredictable weather conditions, soil infertility and poor cultivation methods, the farm produce is always low.  He finds it extremely difficult to feed their large family with a low and irregular income of about US $1,460 in a year. He finds it difficult sometimes to satisfy his family’s basic needs. The mother cares for everyone.  Sokhna is a cute little girl who looks intelligent. She is rather inquisitive, and serious in everything she does.  Sokhna enjoys playing with dolls she makes herself out of empty tins and rags. Her parents’ dire wish for their beloved daughter is to meet the willingness of a caring sponsor who will change her day to day life. They would be forever grateful.
