Muddasirs family source of income comes from the fathers unstable job as a blacksmith (bolo maker), with earnings of $60.00 or less a month. His wife helps him by taking good care of their children at home. They have managed to build a small house of their own out of bamboo and inexpensive metal roofing. They buy water for drinking and use a well for washing since they cannot afford to install their own pipeline. There is no available electricity for the family; instead, they have a connection from their neighbor only during the night. Muddasir, or Mudda, is the youngest child in the family. He has a healthy body and is active in playing. He is joyful and very diligent about going to school on weekdays. At home, he helps his mother by sweeping the floor and washing dishes. Like many other children, Mudda also finds time to play with his peers outside their house, and sometimes they go swimming. His dream in life is to become a police officer.
