JOIN US TO CELEBRATE MOTHERS WORLDWIDE

Like moms everywhere, ChildFund’s mission is to help ensure that children are safe, healthy, educated, and have their own voices. We know that's no easy task — and it's why we want to let every mom know we appreciate all they do!

We invite you to show your support for mothers and children in disadvantaged communities by attending our first-ever “pitch and pledge” event, powered by The Funding Network.

This family-focused event will highlight the challenges and rewards of motherhood around the world – and honor mothers for their hard work protecting and caring for the next generation. Gather your friends and family and join us for this virtual celebration just in time for Mother’s Day!

Thursday, May 13, 2021
6:30pm-8:30pm EDT

Location: The comfort of your home!

You'll have the opportunity to learn about three inspirational programs in Timor-Leste, Central America and Senegal. Our speakers, Ninivia de Silva Barreito, Josué Rivera Rivera and Yaikah Jeng, will share firsthand insight into the many challenges facing parents and children in their countries, and shed light on how ChildFund is responding to the wide-ranging impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. A question & answer session will follow to allow you to learn more about the current situations in the speakers' regions.

Our featured speakers will be followed by an exciting live-pledging session hosted by ABC Australia broadcaster Jacinta Parsons, our MC for the evening. You’ll even have the chance to make a donation in honor of an important mom in your life.

Reserve your seat now and share in the festive spirit by inviting your friends and family!

If you can't attend, but would like to support #MomMatters, you can make a contribution today. If you'd like to make a gift in honor of your mother, please contact the supporter care team at questions@childfund.org or 800-776-6767.

BEING A MOM IS TOUGH, BUT IN SOME PLACES IT'S TOUGHER

A first breath, first meal, first word, first steps — mom is there. Mothers tend to serve as their child’s primary caregiver and protector, yet many face far greater daily challenges than we can imagine.

From their child’s prenatal stages through young adulthood, some women struggle with:

  • preventing childhood malnutrition and slowed mental and physical development
  • accessing proper healthcare to prevent and treat illnesses
  • accessing educational opportunities for their child
  • preventing domestic violence
  • ending early marriage and childbearing traditions
  • preventing child labor

ChildFund programs and community partners in the Americas, Africa, and Asia work together with families to help educate and empower women to be the best versions of themselves they can be.

At Mom Matters, the virtual celebration of motherhood, you’ll learn more about these strong women, their challenges, and the programs and community responses that have made an impact on their lives and the lives of their children.
