Mirla is a smiling girl who lives with her mother, sister and grandmother in a community located in the southeastern part of Mozambique. Her parents are separated. The region is characterized by a hot and dry weather almost all year round. Mirla and her family live in a self-built house with reed walls, a thatched roof and dirt floor. They do not have running water and electricity in the house. At night, they use primitive kerosene lamps. Mirla does not help much with chores around the house as she is still young and is not attending school because is under school age. Her mother earns their living doing subsistence farming where they get food for the family sustenance. This girl and her family have lack of money and face many problems to get food. The family income is very low. Mirla participates in the program where she will receive support in the areas of health, education, nutrition and recreation. We are hopeful that your sponsorship will enable this child to have adequate access to basic essentials and have a good future.
