Saulo is a young Brazilian boy who lives with his mother, Maria, on the outskirts of a small town located in the state of Ceara. Their simple home, which is self-owned, has brick walls, ceramic tile flooring and a clay-tiled roof. It has a tiny bathroom. Water is carried from a well. The father has abandoned the home and has not been providing any type of financial support for his child. Maria receives a small family allowance from the federal government, which is far from enough to meet basic needs. Saulo is affectionate, intelligent and communicative. He helps his mom by sweeping the floor and washing the dishes. He likes jumping rope. Saulo suffers from autism spectrum disorder; he takes controlling medicines and is under treatment with specialists (psychologist, phonoaudiologist, and occupational therapist). He attends a local public primary school and likes Science. His wish is to be a priest when he grows up. The family is needy and through your support Saulo and his family have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, recreation, education and nutrition.
