Paul Kadiatu lives in a small village surrounded by rocky hills in the north of the country with his parents and siblings. His parents are subsistence farmers. They grow their crops mainly for home consumption and sell little to augment their other basic needs. Their annual income of US$463 is not adequate to meet the basic needs of the family. Paul parents share a single room with all the children and they sleeps on a local mattress with poor beddings. His mother manages to prepare two meals a day. He is a warm and obedient small boy who gets on well with his peers. He is attending their community primary school. He enjoys playing football with his peers. He is in good health.
