Cosmas is humble boy who comes from the northern part of Kenya, Turkana county. He lives with his mother, father, two brothers and one sister. They live in a palm thatched mud house in a communal land. They fetch water from a community hand pump where the water is saline. His mother is a housewife who is the primary caretaker of the family. The breadwinner is the father who depends on charcoal burning ad selling activity. However, the annual income derived from this economic activity is below 360 US dollars which is not enough to sustain family basic needs. His mother therefore resolved to approach the office for assistance. Cosmas is enrolled in school and his performance is good. Cosmas likes playing with improvised toy cars with his friends at home. He would like to be a teacher when he grows up because he loves going to school. While at home, he likes helping his father in arrange charcoal burning materials and assists his mother carrying light house chores such as fetching water and collecting firewood.
