Jhimmy is a lively, caring and joyful boy who has much fun playing in the park. He grows up in the city of Oruro, western Bolivia, which is famous for its carnival, during which people dress up in colorful costumes and dance in the streets. This Spanish-speaking boy lives with his parents and 3 siblings in a small house made of adobe walls and corrugated metal roof. His father earns a living as a dressmaker, while his mother takes care of the home. The family makes around US $ 219 per month. The income that the family receives is minimal and insufficient to meet all of their basic family needs. Poverty is a daily reality that most Bolivian children face throughout their childhood, as they do not have enough resources to thrive. The story of this child can follow the same pattern if we do not do something to change it.
