Heiny lives with her parents and a sister in a rural community located at the western part of Honduras which has fertile lands where most people do a livelihood as farmers by growing basic seeds. Her mother does the house works and takes care of the family while her father works very hard on the farm fields by growing corn and beans, but their low income of $ 60.00 per month is not enough to raise the family out of poverty. They share a small double room house of their own which is poorly built with adobe walls, zinc roof and dirt floor; it has all the public services found in their location, such as: safe running water and electricity, but lacks latrine. Heiny is being assisted by the early stimulation program where her weight and growth are periodically monitored. Fortunately, Heiny has no mental or physical disabilities and stays healthy most of the time. Heiny is a very kind and friendly child who enjoys singing and playing with dolls.
