Yusifu is a cheerful and an intelligent boy. He lives with his parents including three siblings in a small farming settlement located near a river in the extreme northern part of Sierra Leone. He sleeps on a savannah grass mattress on the floor beside his parents. The family live in a single bed-room adobe house built with mud blocks, rough cement floor and zinc roof with no access to toilet and electricity. His father is a voluntary community primary school teacher while the mother is a retailer of charcoal. Yusifu is attending the primary school where his father teaches and is progressing very well. He is in good health and likes playing football in the company of other kids and studies at night using a solar light. Yusifu is willing to actively participate in sponsorship program activities and be educated to help his family if enrolled and gain sponsorship.
