Our Work in Child Protection
All children have the right to grow up free from harm. But too many grow up in violent environments, making them more likely to turn to violence themselves at home, at school and in the community.
Violence against children is 100% preventable.
Violence hinders children’s brain development, threatens their emotional connections and, of course, harms them physically. Our child protection work involves supporting children, families and communities to access quality prevention and response services where they are. We also work at the local and national levels to strengthen nationwide child protection systems as a way of building sustainable and comprehensive protection for children. The good news is that violence against children is completely preventable. At ChildFund, we’re committed to helping create a world where it no longer happens.
Protecting Children Online
Our child protection advocacy and programmatic work seeks to make the internet a safer place for children everywhere.
Protecting Children in Communities
We work with our local partners within communities to address the root causes of violence against children and youth.
If I was queen of the neighborhood, I would tell all the bad people to leave and that good people are welcome to live here. So there would be no abuse and no bad things, and so all the children could be free.
Technology created this monster, only technology can #TakeItDown.
The #TakeItDown campaign is a U.S.-based advocacy effort led by ChildFund to fight online sexual abuse and the proliferation of child sexual abuse imagery by pressuring the U.S. Congress to act against the technology companies who allow this imagery to spread on their platforms.
Since its launch, #TakeItDown has helped grow bipartisan support in the U.S. legislature, it has given voice to multitudes of survivors and parents and has spurred Congress to finally start to act to keep kids safe online.
