Alhaji is a smart boy who lives with his family including three siblings in the northern part of Sierra Leone. They dwell in a two bedroom mud bricks house roofed with old zinc. His father is a small scale farmer who normally cultivates cassava, sweet potatoes and rice while the mother engages on inland valley swamp vegetable gardening to help her husband in the upkeep of the home. Their combined annual income could be estimated at US$ 175.00 which hardly meet their basic needs such as food, decent shelter, clothing and medication. Despite these constraints, Alhaji is healthy and lives happily with his peers. He is attending nursery school in their community but lacks adequate materials needed to acquire quality education. He is smart, hard working and likes drawing images of people and animals. Any support through ChildFund sponsorship will help Alhaji to grow well and become a useful member of his community in future.
