Scovia is a jolly and welcoming young girl born in North Eastern Uganda where she lives with both parents and five siblings. She does not attend school due to her tender age. They reside in grass thatched huts made of mud and wattle walls, but the huts require periodic maintenance especially changing grass thatch. They cultivate food crops on a small piece of land purely for domestic use. However, the yield is often insufficient due to soil infertility, unpredictable weather patterns and crop diseases. The family collects water from the borehole which serves more than 200 people in the community and survives on an average income of less than US 10 dollars per month. Scovia likes playing with baby dolls made from local materials and loves listening to traditional songs. She is generally a happy, healthy child. Your kind sponsorship will help her access essential needs for her growth and development.
