Foday is a clever boy who lives with his parents in the rural areas of Sierra Leone. He attends the community primary school in the village, which lacks infrastructure and hygiene facilities. They dwell in a mud house roofed with zincs and occupy a single room. Foday and family sleep on a local mattress on the floor. He sometimes suffers from cold and pain due to cold wind blowing at night. His parents are engaged in farming growing crops and vegetables for home consumption. They are low income earners, and cannot meet the family basic needs. Foday is curious to know everything around him and fast to learn new things. He is friendly and gets on well with his play mate.
