Mohamed is a single parent child who lives with his mother and siblings in a village located along the highway in the northern part of Sierra Leone. He lost his father few years ago. The family dwells in a mud brick house roofed with old zinc. He sleeps on a local mattress bed stuffed with dry grass. His mother depends on farming, growing crops for home consumption. They live with an annual income of US$620 which is not enough to take care of their family needs. The community is challenged with access to school and educational facilities. He attends school at the next village where he walks 1.5 kilometer everyday with his friends to access formal education. He is learning from his friends, grandmother, siblings and mother to count and identify letters. He likes to play football with his age mates, and he is in good health. With sponsorship support, Mohamed will be educated and confident child.
