Pamela is a cheerful girl who lives in Turkana County in the northern part of Kenya. She lives together with her parents, brother and three sisters. They live in a communal land in a grass thatched house. They get their water from a nearby river which will expose them to waterborne diseases. The father is the bread winner who depends on selling charcoal and the mother depends on making and selling brooms. The family’s annual income is less than $ 360 which hardly meets their basic needs. This challenge has forced the family to struggle hard to get food, medical care, school supply, house supply and other necessities. Pamela goes to a nearby school in their village and performs well in counting, drawing and coloring. Pamela likes singing with her friends during free time. Community leaders referred the parents to seek help from Childfund project to assist Pamela achieve her dreams. According to her parents, Pamela would like to be a doctor in future.
