Patience is a social girl and humble girl. She lives with her parents and sibling in a two roomed house made of bricks and rusting iron sheets in Eastern Uganda. Her family survival for a living is through growing vegetables on a hired small portion of land which earns them an average of US 35 dollars a month. This meagre income cannot adequately meet the basic needs like food, kerosene, medication, and scholastic materials. Children and siblings are often attacked by malaria and skin infections but only attended to using local herbs which are not effective. Access to scholastic materials is only achieved after offering cheap labour on the gardens for neighbours and the meagre income obtained caters for a few children other than Patience. She is discriminated against because she is a girl and, in their culture, girls are meant to be housewives. She is presently attending primary education, but her hopes of becoming a Nurse is uncertain due to prevailing cultural beliefs and unbearable financial conditions. Your kind sponsorship will be a turning point in her life.
