Sidney is a young Brazilian boy who lives with his parents, Silvanei and Josilane, and with two sisters (one is his twin), in a rural community in the interior of the state of Ceara. Their simple home, which is self-owned, has brick walls, rough cement flooring and a clay-tiled roof. It has a tiny bathroom. Running water and electricity are available. Silvanei works as a day laborer in agriculture and the family receives a small family allowance from the federal government. Sidney is friendly and affectionate. He likes playing ball in the company of other kids his age. He has a cat he is fond of. Sidney is considered to have good health, in spite of the poor living conditions and diet. He attends preschool and says that he will be a professional soccer player when he grows up. The family is needy and through your support Sidney and his family have the opportunity to participate in important projects in the areas of health, recreation, education and nutrition.
