Meet Marquitos. Hes a 7-year-old boy that belongs to a needy family. His father strives working as a farmer and earns approximately $100 USD per month. His mother is a housewife. This low income really represents an obstacle to keep Marquitos thriving. Marquitos speaks Spanish and attends primary school, 2nd grade. This family lives in a small house which has four rooms, a kitchen and a latrine. They have access to electricity and drinking water. Marquitos diet is based on oatmeal, eggs, beans, noodles, rice, some boiled vegetables, chicken and tortillas. Despite the adverse situation that the family is facing, hes healthy and has been vaccinated against the main diseases that affect children. His favorite celebration is the Independence Day, because the community organizes a parade in which he participates. He also likes to go with his elder brother to the hill, to shepherd the animals.
