Monica is a joyful girl who lives in Turkana County in the northern part of Kenya. She lives together with his parents, two sisters and three brothers. They live in a communal land in a grass thatched house. They get their water from a nearby shallow well. The mother being a bread winner depends on mat weaving and selling. The family’s annual income is less than $ 360 which hardly meets their basic needs. This challenge has forced the family to struggle hard to get food, medical care, school supply, house supply and other necessities. Monica goes to a nearby school in their village and she is in grade two. Monica likes playing rope skipping and with her friends during free time. Community leaders referred the parents to seek help from child fund project to assist Monica achieve her dreams. According to her parents, Monica would like to be a teacher.
