It is a pleasure introducing to Sumini who is a beautiful, jolly young girl living with her parents and siblings in a temporary small house made of grass thatched roof, mud walls with packed dirt floors. They come from the eastern part of Uganda which is more of agricultural and savannah in nature. Sumini is enrolled in school and she excels in counting and writing. Her parents practice small scale farming on a small piece of land which is too small and exhausted thus producing little food which is for home consumption and nothing is left for sale. This affects their incomes and thus unable to meet the basic needs of the family like proper housing structure, school requirements and feeding. However Sumini is an active young girl who loves playing dodge ball games, making dolls with her age mates, once supported she will acquire her education smoothly and the family economic wellbeing will be improved.
